On investigation, DFRAC found a post-IRCTC mentioning “The news in circulation on social media about restriction in the booking of e-tickets due to different surname is false and misleading”.
Furthermore, SpokespersonIR also uploaded this news Stating “The news in circulation on social media about restriction in the booking of e-tickets due to different surname is false and misleading”.
Conclusion:
It is evident from the DFRAC fact check that the news of IRCTC claiming Booking Train Tickets for a Friend Will Cost You ₹10,000 is fake since IRCTC itself refuted this news.
