A video is circulating on social media, where sharing the video, users are claiming it to be from Haryana, where farmers forcefully entered the CM Nayab Saini BJP rally and did a massive demolition of the pandal built for the rally. Police were also helpless in front of the farmers and ran away. Furthermore, while sharing this video a user named Gabbar wrote “The farmers entered and destroyed the pandal of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Police also ran away, silence in BJP. Daro Mat, PM of India Narendra Modi, Bhago. Smriti Irani 4 June ko Bidai Fixed and Fixing hai: Rahul Gandhi. #APElections2024 #ArvindKejriwal”.

DRFAC team searched regarding the viral news and we found that this video was uploaded on the YouTube channel of Punjab Kesari on 10 January 2021. The video mentions that the stage of the CM Manohar Lal Khattar was demolished by farmers in Karnal. In this video, the reporter can be heard saying that Manohar Lal Khattar’s program was organized in Karnal, but the farmers forcefully entered the pandal. During this, the farmers uprooted the helipad and demolished the pandal.
Furthermore, we also received many other media reports of farmers demolishing Manohar Lal Khattar’s program in Karnal. According to the report by ABP News- “Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s visit to ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ was canceled due to the uproar by farmers in Karnal, Haryana. The farmers broke the pandal at the venue of the function. The Chief Minister remained at the helipad. In this program, Khattar was going to explain the benefits of the three new agricultural laws. Earlier, to stop the march of farmers towards Kaimla village, the police used water cannons and released tear gas shells on them. “Farmers also took control of the temporary helipad where the Chief Minister’s helicopter was to land.”

Thus, DFRAC’s fact-check reveals that the viral news clip shared is not from a recent demolition by Farmer at CM NayabSainiBJP’s rally, but is a 3-year-old video. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
