Old image falsely linked to Al-Shifa Hospital Bombings
An Xuser, Angelo Giuliano, recently shared a photo claiming it to be from Al-Shifa Hospital with the caption, “BREAKING: Zionist air raids on Al-Shifa Hospital from warplanes and drones have left the complex almost entirely ablaze.”
Fact-check:
To determine the authenticity of this claim, DFRAC team reverse-searched the image on Google. In the process, we discovered a report by ABC News which used the exact image claiming it to depict the fire and smoke rising above buildings in Gaza City as Israeli warplanes targeted the Palestinian enclave on the 17th May, 2021.

We also found other social media users using the exact image, claiming that Gaza was attacked by Israeli forces on the New Year’s Eve of 2022 ( you can find the claim here and here ). This confirms that the image is not from any recent attack and is misleading.
Conclusion:
It is confirmed by DFRAC that the viral image showing air raids on Al-Shifa hospital is misleading as it is an old image.
