Video showing Hundreds of Passengers travelling on Train Roof is from India or Bangladesh?
A video showing passengers risking their lives while travelling by sitting on the roof of the train is going viral on social media platform X(Twitter). While sharing this video, a Pak-based handle named ‘Crime Reports India’ claimed that people from UP and Bihar going to Punjab and South India.
Fact-Check
The DFRAC team investigated the above viral video. Meanwhile, we found a media report from Navbharat Times revealing that the video is from Bilaspur Bangladesh. Moreover, the video has been uploaded by a Bangladeshi YouTube channel ‘BD Train Express’ as being from Diwanganj-Bilaspur of Bangladesh.
The reports stated that hundreds of people were seen riding inside the train from the rooftop. The matter is being reported from Bilaspur, Bangladesh. On one hand, people are stunned to see this astonishing scene, while some users are making funny comments.
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s Fact-Check that the viral video is from Bangladesh, not from India. Hence, the claim made by Crime Reports India is False.
Additionally, our investigation has found that ‘Crime Reports India’ is continuously spreading misinformation on X(Twitter) on which DFRAC has published a comprehensive report titled: “Exposing the hateful and biased narrative of Crimes Reports India”.
