A video is making rounds on X(Twitter) showing some people protesting in a city. Users on X are sharing this video fiercely and claiming that Protesters in Kyiv demanded the resignation of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and chanted for Zelenskyy to get out.
Sharing this video on X, a user named Benny Johnson wrote: “Protesters in Kyiv demand the resignation of Zelenskyy and chant “Zelenskyy get out”
Furthermore, several users shared this video on X and made similar claims.
Fact-Check
To determine the reality of the above viral video, the DFRAC team converted it into some keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. Meanwhile, we found this video on a YouTube Channel named World News with the caption: “Return Zaluzhny” protest is taking place on the Maidan in Kyiv”.
In addition to that, media reports from USA Today and The New York Times confirmed that President Zelensky of Ukraine recently removed his top general as part of a sweeping overhaul of his military command.
Conclusion
It is evident from DFRAC’s Fact-check that the viral video claiming Protesters in Kyiv demanded the resignation of Zelenskyy is misleading as the protest demanded the return of Zaluzhny, not Zelensky’s resignation.
