To know the truth of the viral video, the DFRAC team converted the video into some keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. During this time, we found a similar video uploaded on a YouTube channel named dailyalerts, which has been captioned “Japan is for the Japanese, Rally in Japan against Immigration and Diversity”.
Moreover, we found some media reports. News website m9.news covered it with the headline, “Rage Against Immigration Policy!”.
According to the media reports found by the DFRAC team while investigating the viral video, the Japanese government changed its immigration policy after the Russia-Ukraine conflict, So, there is no communal angle here.
Conclusion
Therefore, it is clear from the DFRAC’s fact-check that the claim being made by users along with sharing the viral video is misleading because the demonstration in Japan was against the Immigration Policy.
