Swara Bhasker, an actress known for controversies due to her political opinions on Bollywood and other subjects, is once again on the radar of the Right-wing brigade, as she tied the knot with Fahad Ahmad, a member of the Samajwadi Party, in a court marriage.
All this accelerated when Swara on Friday morning shared a bunch of pictures of her court marriage on Twitter. After this, social media users started trolling and abusing Swara, not only because she got married to a Muslim but also because of the ‘background’ of Fahad.
Who is Fahad?
Fahad Ahmad was born in the Baheri district of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh on 2nd February 1992. Fahad joined Samajwadi Party in July last year in presence of senior party leaders Abu Asim Azmi and Raees Shaikh.
Controversies
The political personality garnered controversy when he refused to accept his degree from S. Ramadorai, Chairman of TISS (now Air Asia) during the convocation ceremony. Later, Tata Institute of Social Sciences denied Fahad’s registration into the PhD program and released a statement, which described his action as an ‘insult’ to the university.
He too was an active member of the anti-CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) agitation and it made him “more popular” among the right-wingers.
Hate On Twitter:
With the news of their marriage, the Twitter was filled with hatred towards the couple, and with this many hashtags started trending like #SwaraBhasker, #SwaraBhaskerWedding, etc.
It was found that nearly 1,400 users tweeted on the hashtag of #SwaraBhaskerWedding and influenced around 9.3 million users.
The hashtag #SwaraBhaskerWedding started on 16th Feb, around 6:00 pm and was trending the next day, 17th Feb 2023.
Twitteratis left no stone unturned to troll the couple, and even called them Brother& Sister, because of a past post of Swara on Fahad’s birthday where she casually mentioned him as “Bhai” in a light vein.
The trollers did not stop here. Some even made sexist and vulgar comments on Swara for marrying a Muslim man.
