Fact Check: Did Nitin Gadkari Really Refrain from Clapping During PM Modi’s Parliament Speech?

A video of PM Modi speaking at the parliament house is getting viral on social media. While sharing this video many users are criticizing Modi, as according to them central minister Nitin Gadkari does not clap after the completion of Modi’s speech.

Many users of the opposition started posting this video. A user named @AhmedKhabeer_

Who is an editor of Thejamiatimes posted the video and wrote, “Nitin Gadkari didn’t Clap at Modi’s cheap theatrics..”

Another user writer, “ Nitin Gadkari the only one who didn’t clap at Modi’s speech.”

Some users even compared this whole incident to nazi regime where the German worker refused to raise his hand in the year 1936.

Fact Check:

To investigate the truth behind the viral video DFRAC team did a keyword search and found the full video on the official twitter account of PM Modi.

In the total video of approximately 9 minutes at around 3 minutes the viral part of the video can be heard and just while looking specifically at Nitin Gadkari , we found that he did clap at that moment.

Conclusion:

While looking at the entire video we found that Nitin Gadkari did clap on PM Modi’s speech and the claim made by social media users are misleading. As the video being shared is edited.
