A video is going viral on social media. It can be seen in the video that a group of men is beating a woman dragging her by the hair and beating her with sticks and stones. Social media users are mocking PM Modi’s government for this kind of heinous crime.
By sharing this video a social media user caption: “ This is Modi’s India wherein Hindu extremists can beat a poor Dalit woman, film it, & laugh for all to see! I ask Allah to guide this woman to Islam. And I ask Allah to punish each & every participant in this heinous crime & not to let a single one of them get away. “

Fact Check:
To know the reality of the viral claim the team of DFRAC first separate the keyframes of the video and afterward did the reverse image search of those keyframes and found that Time of India covered this report on July 5, 2021, with the headline stating: “ Madhya Pradesh horror: Sisters beaten brutally by Kin for talking to cousins.”

The reports mention about the two sisters were attacked brutally in neighboring Dhar by their kin merely for talking to their cousins over the phone. Dhar SP Aditya Pratap Singh told media persons that the incident took place in Peepalwa village in Tanda of Dhar district.
One of the women told police that their paternal cousins and other family members stopped them near a school in the village and began assaulting them.
Vaskale said that the family members were angry with the sisters for speaking with their maternal cousins over the phone though they were engaged to two men in Jobat of Alirajpur.
Meanwhile, the team found old tweets done by social media users in the year 2021 regarding the video.

It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC and several media reports that the viral claim of Hindu extremists beating a Hindu girl or the Hindutva goondas beating the Dalit girl for taking a bath in the river is old and Misleading.
