No protest is held against BBC in London for releasing PM Modi’s Documentary- Read Fact Check
A recent release of a BBC Documentary that is on the Gujrat riots in the year 2002, is the new talk of the town and many social media users are tweeting their opinions on it.
Meanwhile, a clip is getting viral on social media, where a large number of people are gathered at a place and are protesting. Social media users are claiming that the protestors have gathered there to protest against BBC documentary on PM Modi.
A user on Twitter writes, “British Public chanting “SHAME ON YOU” to the #BBC at a demonstration outside BBC Broadcasting House in London. The protests are purportedly against the propaganda #BBCDocumentary on #NarendraModi and #India Serves them right! #BBCdocumentry #BBCQuitIndia.”
Many other users shared the same video using different captions.
To verify the above claim DFRAC team did a reverse image search and used specific keywords and found the same video on multiple social media platforms, the video was shot during an anti-vaccine demonstration called “Truth be Told” in London, where protestors gathered outside the Portland Place BBC headquarters in London, England, on January 21, 2022.
Many twitter users too have uploaded the video
With the investigation the team found out that the protest was not against BBC documentary on Modi but anti- vaccine. Hence, the claim made by social media users is misleading as no protest is held in London against the Modi documentary.
