A video is getting viral on all social media platforms. In this video, a man can be seen kicking and insulting the oil painting of Goddess Saraswati in the school. Social media users are claiming that the accused youth is a Muslim. Users are pleading with the police to catch the accused. 

By sharing this video a user captioned: “ RT this video so much. That this Muslim pig should be caught wherever he is.  #ViralVideo.”

Many other users are posting this video. Many of these users called it a racist incident, while some users have claimed that this act was done by the teacher of the school itself.

Fact Check:

To analyze the viral video, the DFRAC team first converted the video into several frames. After this, a reverse search was done. We found a report published on ‘Aaj Tak’. According to this report, this incident is from a government school in Kwant tehsil of Chhota Udepur, Gujarat. The name of the accused youth is Yogesh and he is a teacher posted in the school. He vandalized the school in an inebriated state. During this time he also insulted Goddess Saraswati. The incident is a few days old. After this incident, the police are looking for the accused Yogesh.

In the report published on the website of ‘India TV’ regarding this incident, it has been told that the name of the accused youth is Yogesh.

Conclusion:

It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the name of the accused youth is Yogesh. He is not a Muslim. Therefore, the claim of social media users is wrong.
