To analyze the reality of the viral claim the team of DFRAC did a reverse image search and found an article by BBC published on 12 November 2015. The headline stated: “ Police in Saudi Arabia stop smugglers with cans of beer disguised as Pepsi.”

The article further stated, smugglers were recently stopped at the border with 48,000 cans of beer disguised as Pepsi.
It was only when the border Patrol police peeled away the labels on the cans that they revealed the contraband Underneath.
The official account of Al Arabiya English has also posted a caption that stated: “#Saudi police confiscate 48,000 beer cans masked as soft drinks: ara. tv/nntu6.”

On further searching about the Coke can the team found an article in Daily star:” Fans’ sneaky way getting bear into stadiums is not happening at Qatar World cup.”
The article stated: In a series of Twitter posts, supporters who believed that the picture is recently shared the image that showed a deceptive rubber Coca-Cola cover that can be pulled over a beer can, with the caption: “ How to get booze into Qatar stadiums. “ One fan scoffed: “Extremely risky but nothing like a cold one at the world cup.”
But the image was taken in the UK back in the summer.

It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the viral picture of beer cans disguised as Pepsi and Coke are an old picture. Therefore, the claim made by social media users is fake.
