A video is getting viral on social media sites regarding the Mosque in Birmingham.
Social media users are sharing a video and claiming that Hindus are behind the attack on Fulham road mosque in Birmingham.
By sharing a video a user named Indian Muslim Observatory captioned- “ صباح يومنا هذا قام هندوس متطرفين بعد صلاة الفجر بالاعتداء على مسجد طريق فولهام في برمنغهام، تم تقديمبلاغاً للشرطة البريطانية وتقوم حاليا بالتحقيق في الأمر.. على مدى الأشهر الماضية ، دأب الهندوس على مهاجمةالمسلمين في بريطانيا ويبذلون كل جهد لزعزعة السلام هناك

To analyze the originality of the viral claim the team of DFRAC did a Keyframe search with the help of InVid tool. The team found an article covered by iambirmingham.co.uk. The headline- “ Birmingham mosque windows smashed during Islamophobia awareness month.”

The article further states the incident took place in Paigham-E- Islam mosque which is situated on Fulham road, off the main Stratford road at 6:43 am on 4 November. In which a man can be seen carrying a backpack containing bricks and stones. The criminal is also seen taking out a catapult from his pocket which he loads with a stone before taking aim at the mosque.
At the same time, we found another article by Birminghammail.co.uk. The headline of the article- “ Watch as Thug uses a catapult to smash windows of the mosque

The article stated Police have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of criminal damage. The motive behind the attack is yet to be established, but we are currently questioning the man in his 40s who remains in custody and undergoing a mental health assessment
Meanwhile, many YouTube channel has also uploaded video of the criminal carrying a backpack full of stones and bricks which he flung at the mosque windows which can be seen here

It is clear from the verification of DFRAC that the claim made by the social media users is Misleading. Because it is not mentioned anywhere that the Hindus are behind the attack of Fulham road mosque attack. It’s an unknown individual in his 40s who destroyed the window of the mosque.
