Azam Khan became a devotee of Ram-Krishna after being in jail for 27 months?, Read Fact Check

A video of senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan is becoming very viral on social media. Users sharing this video are claiming that after being in jail for 27 months, Azam Khan has started considering Shri Ram and Shri Krishna as ideals.

To fact-check the video going viral, we reverse searched some of the frames of the video. We found this video posted on the official YouTube channel of Samajwadi Party. This video was uploaded on 7th October 2017. Azam Khan’s full statement can be heard at 13:16 minutes to 16 minutes 20 minutes of this video.

Azam Khan said- ‘The Mughals were not our ancestors. they were our ancestors neither yesterday, noe today never will there be tomorrow. We have told a thousand times in front of you that we have our deen, our Quran, our hadith, our prophet’s decree that beware… do not insult any religious Peshwa or great men of any religion. And why? Because after 1500 years in your book, which is your soul, one aspect of it has neither decreased nor increased. Allah has sent 1 lakh 20 thousand prophets. All the great men in the world, they may have been prophets in their time. So Yogi ji, Mughals are not our ideals, but Ram and Krishna ji are our ideals. But we want to know whether the Prophet and Jesus Christ are your role models or not?
