Fact Check: Did two brothers commit suicide in Saharanpur over Army recruitment?

An image is getting viral on the internet with the claim that the two brothers of Saharanpur gave life together. And, the reason behind the suicide is the Cancellation of Army Recruitment. Further, sharing the picture a user named Rajesh Yadav Vaishali(राजेश यादव वैशाली) wrote the caption, “@PMOIndia Two real brothers were fit in the army in Saharanpur given life together.” (@PMOIndia सहारनपुर में दो सगे भाई आर्मी मे फिट थे एक साथ दी जान)

Similarly, many other users have shared this picture with the similar same claim.

Fact Check

On reverse image search we found an article on the website of Perma Culture News published on 26 January, 2010. The title of the report is, “Farmer Suicides and Bt Cotton Nightmare Unfolding in India.” It is noteworthy that the same image was used the article

Hence, the viral image photo is old. And, it is not related to any present day scenario. Further, on keyword research we have not found any such incident in Saharanpur.

Conclusion

Therefore, users are sharing an old image with misleading claim.
