A video is going viral on social media sites in the name of Kanpur’s violence over the protest against the Nupur Sharma controversy. In this video, some gunmen can be seen who is buffed with anger and are firing.
A user named Sampat Kumar Saraswat captioned it, “These are the Jihadis of Kanpur, who were openly firing recklessly with state-of-the-art weapons and the police were leaving only tear gas shells, their cure is direct bullets, once if ten-twenty are killed then these guys will not behave like this”, and posted a video in which some people can be seen who are firing guns in anger, the fight is in full swing.
Similarly, many other users are also fiercely sharing the viral video with the same claim.
Fact Check:
On reverse image search of different frames of this video on the internet, we found that this video is of a fight between two parties of a community in Bareilly in May 2021. This incident has been covered by Dainik Bhaskar and Etv Bharat.
According to Etv Bharat, there was a dispute over meat between Salim Qureshi and Jalis Banjara, residents of Madhotanda in the Bhojipura police station area. According to the police, there was a fight between the two over the price of meat. Within no time the quarrel escalated so much that fighting started between both the sides and openly waving weapons and firing was also done.
Bareilly Police had released its statement on Twitter upon it.
