By Fabrication, we mean the false information that is passed on as factual. These days this is not new in the society, that is active on social media. Many news is fabricated and presented as factual ones to mislead many people. But, this becomes a matter of great concern to society when the media too starts showing partial truth or passing on untrue information to society. In the series by DFRAC, we have already covered the fabricated and hateful stories by famous journalists like Sudhir Chaudhary, and Arnab Goswami.
This time we are going to present you with the fabricated stories by Amish Devgan. Amish Devgan is the Managing Editor and Senior Anchor of the News18 channel. He hosts the famous show AarPaar where he calls many guests from different sections of the society along with the audience and sets a field for debates and discussions.
1. Opinionated Journalism of Amish Devgan:
He reported on National Television that a “Shivling” was discovered during a recent court-monitored survey in Gyanwapi mosque.
He also asked a question to the viewers, ‘is the Muslim community hiding the truth through a conspiracy?’

But, in reality, The lawyers representing the Hindu group claimed a ‘shivling’ was found, while the Muslim side claimed it was the fountain. While the court is yet to pronounce its verdict, still Amish repeatedly raised this issue on his show.
Through his reporting, he was not at all looking unbiased (the important rule of journalism), but was targeting and questioning a particular society.
2. Amish Devgan on Shah Jahan
He said that the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan cut the hands of the worker who built the Taj Mahal.

But in reality We found that Shah Jahan had not got the hands of the laborers who built the Taj Mahal. Rather, by giving them a lifetime salary, he made them promise to not work for life. Therefore, his statement that Shah Jahan cut the hands of the workers who built the Taj Mahal is false.

3. Amish dragging the other Bollywood celebrities in the Aryan Drug case.
He tweeted, #BigStory #BigExpose Deepika, the ‘mistress’ of the ‘Maal’ gang! After Deepika, the heat till Karan Johar! #AarPaar 6.57 pm.
He on his show accused Deepika Padkone and Karan Johar and dragged them in the Aryan Khan drug case an run a whole show on this issue.
But in reality, both of them has come up clean. They were only summoned by the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) in Mumbai. Even Aryan Khan is now released and got a clean chit in the drug case.
4. Amish Devgan on Moinuddin Chisht
Moinuddin Chishti, also known as Pir Hazrat Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz Amish defamed him on debate show saying, “aakrantak Chishti aya… aakrantak Chishti aya… lootera Chishti aya… uske baad dharam badle”. Translated in English the words spoken would read – “Terrorist Chishti came. Terrorist Chishti came. Robber Chishti came – thereafter the religion changed,”
For this Statement a FIR was filled against him.
After this he received a lot of hatred from different religions on his statement to which he asked for the apologies on national Television. He also mentioned that he too have faith in Hazrat Moinuddin Chishti.
Is this the true ethics of journalism , where during a debate one get sentimental and speaks out inexplicably over a religion or a person from particular religion. Is screaming is what journalist like Amish Devgan considers as a journalism.
5. Amish Devgan’s hand in escalating the Hindu- Muslim tension.
He on his show Aar Paar ran a false news against Muslims by linking an unrelated video, falsely claiming that Muslims were offering Namaz in Kurla Masjid during lockdown and showing a video of Muslims gathered at the Masjid and misbehaving.
On this a FIR was also filed against him which opines that Devgan targeted both Mumbai Police and the Muslim community with fake news.
Amish Devgan later on released a 30 seconds apology on his show on this entire issue.

6. Amish Devgan his Hipocracy:
He was behind Aryan Khan and his drug case from the beginning and also mentioned him in many of his shows and tweeted on him when he got a clean chit.
But, did not utter a word on Mundra Adani Port drug case. People all over the social media too show their agitation against him because of his diplomatic relations. Many YouTube channels and Twitter accounts too tweeted against him and his diplomatic nature.
In reality Aryan khan has got a clean chit in the case.
