Meanwhile, a picture of a broken dome of a masjid is getting viral on social media sites. It is claimed that it showed the damaged Jama Masjid dome.
A user writes in Hindi, “दिल्ली वाले बुखारी चच्चा तो बिखर गए।वो भी एक झोंके से कसमें खाते थे जामा मस्जिद की तैयारी का,ईंटा-ईंटा हो चुका गुम्बद चच्चा बुखारी का which roughly means that the dome of the Jama masjid is destroyed by the Hailstorm.
Fact Check:
DFRAC searched the internet and found the same viral picture and the report on the news website Patrika. The report was from the year 2017.
It was clear from the report that the viral image was from Bulandshahr, UP.
News 18 too covered this report under the headline, “Bulandshahr: People living in the colony panicked after Jama Masjid minaret collapsed. (Translates Hindi)
