Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals in the final of IPL-2022 to lift the trophy. Gujarat Titans had entered the IPL for the first time and in their very first IPL tournament, they have won the title. At the same time, after the defeat of Rajasthan Royals, its supporters on social media expressed a lot of anger and also criticized the players who performed poorly.
Riyan Parag was the highest target of the trollers. Memes were also shared against him. At the same time, a picture of Riyan Parag is being shared on social media and he is being mocked. In the photo, parag can be seen standing with a trophy and a checkbook. The trophy and the checkbook reads ” Most Irritating Player of IPL History”. Users who shared this picture are writing that Riyan Parag is the right person for this trophy and honour.

Fact Check:
DFRAC examined the viral picture. On doing a reverse image search of the picture on Google, we found the story of Rediff.com (rediff.com). In this story, the same picture of Riyan Parag is seen, which is being made viral by social media users. However, on the checkbook in the original picture- “PUNCH SUPER STRIKER OF THE MATCH” is written on the checkbook, while “Super Striker” is written on the trophy.
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact check proves that the viral picture of Riyan Parag is false and misleading. It has nothing to do with reality. This picture is being viral by social media users to troll Parag with a misleading claim.
