FactCheck: Fake Claim Made By Global Times. Know The Reality

In this ongoing Russia and Ukraine crisis, many people are speculating on India’s move. Many fake pictures and claims are getting viral on social media platforms related to this. In the same vein, a picture of Qutub Minar getting massively viral on the internet. Sharing the image Global Times, wrote the caption that, “India lit up the Qutb Minar, one of the landmark buildings in New Delhi, with the colors of the Russian flag.”

Similarly, many other social media users also shared this picture on their handles.

Fact check

On our fact check analysis, we found that this was shared from the official handle of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana. They shared this picture on 5 March 2022, to commemorate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Qutub Minar.

Hence, watching the above tweet it is clear that the @globaltimesnews which is a China state-affiliated media, shared a fake claim that Qutub Minar added the colour of the Russian Flag on the it.
