Fake Public Notice on Offline Examinations by UGC Got Viral

Recently, a letter has been circulated across social media platforms regarding the offline examinations in all universities for all the upcoming semesters. The viral image shows that the letter has come from UGC India itself.

It is seen that the public notice is dated on 10th Dec, 2021. With the subject that reads – “Offline Examinations in all Universities Semester courses for all the upcoming semesters in their home centers.”

Fact Check

After our analysis, it came out that this notice is nothing but a fake notice. UGC has not declared any such news regarding offline examinations in universities. To be clear, UGC tweeted and even published a notice where they have confirmed that instructions regarding the conduct of offline examinations has not been issued by them.

They have also clarified that all the public notice issued by UGC are regularly uploaded on their website https://www.ugc.ac.in/

Therefore, it clearly states that the notice which has got viral is a fake notice and is not issues by The University Grants Commission.
