Fact-Check: Video of Kazakhstan blast goes viral as a blast from Kabul Airport

A video of a massive explosion started going viral on social media soon after a series of blasts were reported near Kabul airport on August 26,2021. The blast itself killed at least 70 people and turned the desperation witnessed at the airport to a scene of terror and chaos.

Many news reports and raw footage started to get used on social media platforms. One such video showed a massive blast with the video being taken from a very far distance.

Each version of the video posted at views ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 views. The maximum number of views garnered was on @vaibhavkaushiki tweet which as a whopping 3.3 lakh views.

Upon reverse searching the key frames of the video, we were led to a news report written by BNO News that confirmed that the blast took place on August 26,2021 in Taraz, Kazakhstan. Several other news media outlets also reported the same.
