FactCheck: Misleading video got viral claiming it to be of tsunami in Tonga.

A fake video of a man punching the banana tree went viral all over the internet, showing the wrath of Mother Nature in the form of tsunami. It is shown as the tsunami from the volcanic explosion in Tonga. Many people posted about this incident on social media platforms claiming it to be from Tonga.

FACT CHECK

After our analysis, we found out that this video was not of the tsunami from the volcanic explosion in Tonga, Scotland but is of Indonesia, a month before the tsunami in tongue. This video is of a tidal bore which is a regular natural occurrence in the river system. Here is the actual footage which was shot and uploaded on YouTube in Dec 2021, showing us that the incident did not took place in Tonga, but in Indonesia.

Therefore, proving that the video misleading and is not of tsunami in Tonga but of tidal bore in Indonesia.
