A claim is being circulated on social media regarding AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, alleging that he wrote a letter to the United Nations stating that Muslims are unsafe in India, saying, “Muslims are not safe in Hindustan.” The claim further alleges that the United Nations responded to Owaisi by saying, “Go wherever you feel safe.”
Sharing a post with this claim, a user named Manoj Srivastava wrote, “Now tell us, Owaisi, will you go to Pakistan or Bangladesh?”

Another user, Dilip Kumar Singh, shared the viral postcard and wrote, “Owaisi’s lights are out,” implying that Owaisi had been left speechless or embarrassed.

Fact Check:
During its investigation, the DFRAC team found that the viral claim is fake. Asaduddin Owaisi has not written any such letter to the United Nations. To verify the claim, the DFRAC team searched Google using keywords related to “Asaduddin Owaisi’s letter to the United Nations.” However, no recent or credible media reports were found stating that Owaisi had written such a letter. Had he actually written to the United Nations on such a serious matter, it would likely have received widespread media coverage.

For further verification, the team also reviewed the official social media handles of AIMIM and Asaduddin Owaisi. No such letter or statement indicating that he had written to the United Nations was found there either.

The DFRAC team also contacted Asaduddin Owaisi directly to seek clarification on the matter and asked whether he had written any such letter to the United Nations. Owaisi dismissed the claim as fake, calling it “nonsense” and completely untrue.
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact-check clearly establishes that the viral claim circulating on social media is false. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi neither wrote any letter to the United Nations claiming that Muslims are unsafe in India, nor did the United Nations issue any such reply asking him to move to another country. Therefore, the viral claim is fake.
