Fact Check:

The DFRAC team investigated the viral postcard and found that Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand made no such statement. He never said that Yogi Adityanath would become the Chief Minister again in 2027. Furthermore, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand’s media in-charge, Sanjay Pandey, also spoke to DFRAC and termed the claim fake.

We conducted a Google keyword search regarding the viral claim but did not find any report published by a credible media organization stating that Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand had spoken about Yogi Adityanath becoming the Chief Minister again in 2027. However, we found several recent news reports in which the Shankaracharya criticized CM Yogi Adityanath and the BJP. These reports were published by ETV Bharat, Dainik Bhaskar, and Hindustan.

According to the ETV Bharat report, “Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has once again attacked the Yogi government. This time, the Shankaracharya directly stated that if Gaumata (Mother Cow) is not given due respect, the BJP will have to face serious consequences in the upcoming elections.” Meanwhile, the Dainik Bhaskar report stated that Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand reached Ikauna in Shravasti, where he delivered a message on cow protection and Sanatan Dharma.

Additionally, the Hindustan report stated, “Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of Jyotish Peeth launched a sharp attack on the Uttar Pradesh government regarding the status of Gaumata. He said that the Sanatan society considers the cow a mother, whereas government records still classify her as an animal. He demanded that the government clarify its policy on this matter.

For further verification, the DFRAC team contacted Sanjay Pandey, the media in-charge of Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand. Calling the viral claim fake, he said, “This is fake news, and Maharaj Ji has not made any such statement.”

Conclusion:

DFRAC’s investigation clearly establishes that the claim circulating on social media is false. Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand has not made any statement claiming that Yogi Adityanath will become the Chief Minister again in 2027. Moreover, his media in-charge, Sanjay Pandey, has also categorically dismissed the viral claim as fake.
