On social media, a video has gone viral showing some people beating a bull to death. While sharing the video users claim that “Demons are present everywhere… But if you want to see the ugly face of the present day demons then look at the Bangladeshi demons! In Bangladesh, in the name of ISKCON, along with destroying Hindus, Jihadi mullahs are also engaged in destroying the cows reared in ISKCON’s cowshed. What is the fault of innocent mute animals that they are being beaten to death like this?”
Moreover, several users shared this video and made similar claims. The link can be seen here, here and here
Fact Check
During the investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was false. On November 19, 2024, a post by ‘Journalist Faisal’ called for action against the accused, though it did not specify the location of the incident. In response, ‘PETA India’ commented that “an FIR had already been filed at the Sadar police station under the applicable sections of the BNS”.
Furthermore, we also found a media report from ‘The Tribune’ (India) published on November 20 stating “The video, which went viral on social media, prompted a group of residents, led by Shrist Bakshi of the Animal Protection Foundation, to demand action from the authorities. In response to the video, Bakshi and a group of residents gathered outside PPR Mall where they staged a protest before heading to the Jamsher police station. The group demanded immediate action against the perpetrators and the owner of the dairy, where the incident allegedly took place.”
Moreover, we also found post on a Facebook page of ‘Animal Protection Foundation’ with the caption “FIR finally registered on GauVansh cruelty case.
Little efforts by Shrist Bakshi(Yuvi Singh) from Animal Protection Foundation and Majority of efforts done by and the real Person behind this case is Mr. Abhishek Bakshi NATIONAL PRESIDENT(Shri Gobind Gau raksha dal) & PRESIDENT(Shri Gobind gau dham gaushala Lambra)”.
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s Fact check that the Viral video of the bull being beaten to death is from Jamsher Dairy Complex in Jalandhar, Punjab, not ISKCON’s cow farm in Bangladesh. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
