On social media, a video of former US President Donald Trump has gone viral in which he can be heard delivering a statement about Peanuts and Squirrel. While sharing the video users claim that “Donald Trump Issues Statement on Peanut The Squirrel”.

During the investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was false. We found the original video on the official instagram handle of ‘Donald Trump’ uploaded on 21 Sept, 2024 in which Trump can be heard introducing the launch of our Official Trump Coins. Basically, joking about Non-official coins.
The video’s caption stated that “Good morning everyone—I have something incredible to share today, as we are introducing the launch of our Official Trump Coins! The ONLY OFFICIAL coin designed by me—and proudly minted here in the U.S.A. The President Donald J. Trump First Edition Silver Medallion will be available starting Wednesday, 9/25/24, EXCLUSIVELY at REAL TRUMP COINS (link in bio). Sign up today! realtrumpcoins.”
Furthermore, we also found a similar video on the YouTube channel of ‘Forbes breaking news’ uploaded on 21 Sept, 2024 titled “Trump Promotes New ‘Trump Coin,’ Jokes About Non-Official Coins With His ‘Very Beautiful Face’.”
On closely inspecting this video we found several similarities from the original video such as Tie worn by Trump, the batch on his coat and the background of US flag behind Trump are absolutely same as shown in the viral video. The manipulation has been detected in the audio part only.
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the above-shared video of Trump is AI generated. The original video shows him promoting Trump coins. Therefore, the statement about peanuts and squirrels has been digitally attached to the original video.
