On social media, news related to India, Ukraine, and Russia has gone viral. While sharing this news users claim that “Russia warns India regarding Ukraine keeps using Indian-made weapons at large scale against Russian Army.

X account named Tactical Tribune posted an image and wrote: “Russia warns 1ndia regarding Ukraine keeps using 1ndian-made weapons at large scale against Russian Army”

Fact-check

During the investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was false. We found a tweet from official X handle of Randhir Jaiswal, official Spokesperson,Ministry of External Affairs stating “We have seen the Reuters report. It is speculative and misleading. It implies violations by India, where none exist and, hence, is inaccurate and mischievous”.

Furthermore, a report from Jagran News mentioned “MEA: ‘News of arms reaching Ukraine from India is misleading’, Foreign Ministry rejects claims of foreign media”.

It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the claim made by social media users regarding arms reaching Ukraine from India is false since MEA India has dismissed the Reuters report on the diversion of Indian defense exports to Ukraine.
