Amid the rise of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, a video showing a fire scene along with a statement of police official has been shared by some Pak-based handles on social media platform X with the claim that Indian intelligence agency RAW office in Mattan area of Anantnag set on fire by unknown men.
An account with the username @Pak1stTeam posted this video and wrote: “
Indian intelligence agency R &AW office in Mattan area of Anantnag set on fire by unknown men. The office kept burning whole night. Fir has been registered against unknown men for setting the office of R&AW on fire.

Another Pak based handle also shared this video and made similar claim.
Fact-Check
To determine the reality of the above viral video, the DFRAC team converted this video into some keyframes and reverse-searched them on google. We found a latest report published by Times Now. The report featured a screengrab from the video and cited that a mysterious fire erupted late Sunday night in Mattan, #Anantnag engulfing and destroying heritage houses of Kashmiri Pandit Community. The fire sparked outrage and suspicion among community who alleged it as Sabotage.
Furthermore, @ZeeNewsEnglish , @Wion and @Greaterkashmir also reported this news stating simialr facts.

It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check that the above video has been misleadingly shared on @X. In reality, the video shows fire flames emerging from old houses of Kashmiri pandits, not from Indian intelligence agency RAW office
