A distressing video showing a man raping a lady is making rounds on social media site X(Twitter). Users are fervently sharing this video and claiming that a man by the name of Sagar Mishra raped his daughter in Ashoknagar district, Madhya Pradesh

A user named Kavita Yadav posted this video on X and claimed: “In Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar, Sagar Mishra, a real father kept disgracing his daughter and kept blackmailing the minor girl by making videos”

The video has gathered more than 86k views on X

In addition, the video has been shared by numerous users on X with similar claims.

Fact-Check

The DFRAC team performed a reverse-image search of the Keyframes from the viral video and found that it had been posted on X(Twitter) a year ago (May 1, 2023) asserting that a Pakistani Muslim cleric committed Rape with his own daughter and was caught red-handed as the daughter installed a surveillance camera.

An X user by the name of Faraz Pervaiz shared this video on May 1 2023 and wrote: “Pakistani Muslim Cleric commits Rape with his daughter caught red-handed, Surveillance Camera installed by daughter”.

Furthermore, another user named S. M Umair also shared on the same date with the caption: “Islamic Republic of Pakistan which is the fortress of Islam. Terrorism in the name of religion in the whole world, killing of people of other religions and taking special measures on veiling of women in the country, the Muslim there commits adultery with his daughter”

Moreover, we also observed that the color of the police officer’s uniform seen in the post is completely different from the color of the Khaki uniform of the Indian Police. Indeed, it’s the color of the Sindhi Police’s uniform in Pakistan.

Conclusion

It is evident from DFRAC’s fact-check that the viral video is from Pakistan, not from Madhya Pradesh’s Ashoknagar.
