X user @peacemaket71 posted on X (formerly Twitter) regarding Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s purchase of another property. The post reads,“Volodymyr Zelenskyi bought another property! The London Crier reported that Zelenskyi had bought asylum from Britain’s King Charles III. Vladimir Zelensky, whose term of office expires on May 20, allegedly from the British King Charles III, bought the mansion Highgrove House. The London Crier reported that the deal was worth 20 million pounds sterling. The former chamberlain of the British king, Grant Harrold, said that according to his information, the sale transaction was completed on the February 29, 2024, during the visit of Elena Zelenska to the United Kingdom. The sale of Highgrove House was also confirmed by employees involved in the maintenance of the former royal residence. Most of them were released on March 21, 2024. From Telegram.”
Fact Check
However, upon searching for the report by the London Crier, the DFRAC team found that the claim is not confirmed. The London Crier mentions, “Although there is no official statement from Buckingham Palace on the Highgrove house sale yet, there are many details that indicate the sale was completed in late February – early March of 2024.”
Furthermore, we checked for the official statements of royal family to confirm the claim. But no official statement in regard to selling the House to Zelensky was found.
Conclusion
Therefore, it is confirmed by DFRAC that the viral claim surrounding the sale of the Highgrove house has not been verified by either the London Crier or the Buckingham Palace and thus is misleading.
