A list of Samajwadi Party candidates is being shared on social media. Four candidates have been announced in this list, one of which is that of Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh. According to the viral list, Samajwadi Party has left the Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat for Aam Aadmi Party, from where Sanjay Singh will contest. This list has been posted by X user Luffy. According to this, Ahmed Kamal from Dumariyaganj (60), Subodh Chandra Yadav from Khalilabad (62), Aam Aadmi Party (Sanjay Singh) from Jaunpur (73), and Preeti Singh Patel from Mirzapur (79) were given Samajwadi Party ticket for the Lok Sabha elections
Fact Check:
DFRAC team examined the list of viral candidates. The date of release of this list is said to be 2nd April 2024. After which our team looked at the official social media accounts of Samajwadi Party, but we did not find any such list released on April 2 posted on the social media accounts of Samajwadi Party. At the same time, we found a post from Samajwadi Party dated March 17, 2024, in which it is said, “Please be careful! The list of Lok Sabha candidates of Samajwadi Party is sent on the party page only, the list which is on the party’s X and Facebook pages is only authorized and all other lists are fake.” (English Translation)
Apart from this, we found that the list of candidates going viral has “Unofficial List” written on all four corners.
Conclusion:
It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the Samajwadi Party has not announced the Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh as its candidate for the Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat. Therefore, the list of Lok Sabha election candidates viral on social media is fake.
