A distressing video showing a shirtless man being assaulted by some men is going viral on social media platforms. The video has drawn a heavy backlash on social media. Users are fiercely sharing this video and claiming that a Muslim delivery driver was assaulted in India.

Sharing this video on X(Twitter), an account by the name of The Saviour wrote: “MUSLIM DELIVERY DRIVER ATTACKED IN INDIA”

Furthermore, other users also shared this video and made similar claims.

To determine the reality of the above viral video, the DFRAC team converted it into some Keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. We found numerous media reports during this process.

Media reports from NDTV, Jagran, The Print and Amar Ujala

Media outlet NDTV published a media report on Feb 22, 2024, with the headline: “Noida Delivery Boy Stripped, Assaulted Over Personal Dispute: Police”. In this report, NDTV stated: “A man working as a delivery boy in Noida was allegedly stripped shirtless and assaulted by a group of men known to him over some personal dispute, officials said on Thursday”

Further, the report mentioned that the victim’s name is Abhay Pratap, who hails from Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur and works as a delivery executive here at an under-construction building.

In addition, another media report by The Print cited: “Both the accused and the victim are known to each other. There was a fight between them on February 9 due to some dispute over some matter. A case was registered on February 9 at Sector-113 police station based on the plaintiff’s complaint,” a police spokesperson said”

Moreover, media reports from Amar Ujala and Jagran also reported similar facts in the context of the above viral video.
