Fact-Check

To determine the truth of the viral video, the DFRAC team converted it into keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. We found some media reports during this process.

Media reports carrying the same video

According to a media report published by India Today on Mar 2023, Bangladesh Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan found himself in a lot of discomfort during a commercial event in Dubai. The Magura-born all-rounder recently played the Test and T20I series against Jos Buttler’s England, after which he flew to Dubai to inaugurate a gold jewelry shop owned by Arav Khan, a fugitive in a case regarding the murder of a police official.

Further, stating about the viral video, it was mentioned that in a clip viral on social media, Shakib was seen rushing out of the place of the event. During this while, he was literally manhandled, due to which he almost fell over. The people around him pulled his collar as well. There was utter chaos in that place and Shakib did well to get out of there.
