A video has been widely shared on social media platforms with the claim that the condition of police personnel who stopped a Karnataka Congress leader from raising the Pakistan Zindabad slogan was worsened adding: if Congress‘ reign comes, there will be an outcry in the entire country.

A user named Indian at Heart shared this video on X (Twitter), captioning: “The condition of the police personnel who stopped a Congress leader from Karnataka from raising Pakistan Zindabad slogan was worsened* *These people started threatening to kill the poor man* *Just think, if Congress comes into the country or state even by mistake, then there will be an outcry in the entire country”.

To verify the authenticity of the viral video, the DFRAC team converted it into some keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. The team found some media reports during this process.

 Media Reports Revealing the truth behind viral video

The News website Indian Express published news on November 27, 2022 with the headline: “Former Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan arrested for ‘manhandling’ cop in Delhi”. In this news, Indian Express reveals: “The Delhi Police have arrested former Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan and detained two other men for allegedly hurling abuses and manhandling a police officer in Southeast Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. The police said Khan and his supporters cornered and pushed a sub-inspector, Akshay, on Friday and he is the “main accused” in the incident”.

Moreover, According to a news published by India Today on November 26, 2022, Former Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan has been arrested by Delhi Police for assaulting and misbehaving with cops. According to police, the former Congress MLA allegedly “abused” a police officer in the Shaheen Bagh area when he was questioned for holding a gathering without permission from the State Election Commission”.
