The tension between Canada and India is in the headlines these days. Amidst this, a video is being shared on social media claiming that the Justin Trudeau government of Canada has banned Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
A user named Vinita Jain posted a video on X and wrote, “The Canadian government has banned RSS.”
According to the information given in the x bio – Vinita Jain is the Vice President of the Social Media and Digital Platform Department of Rajasthan Congress.
Other social media users are also making similar claims by sharing this video.

The DFRAC team searched some keywords on Google in this context. During our investigation, the team found some media reports.
According to the report of news website myind, the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) in collaboration with the World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) has put forward four demands to the Justin Trudeau-led Canadian government. These demands include the immediate recall of the Canadian Ambassador to India, expelling the Indian High Commissioner to Canada, formally suspending trade talks between India and Canada, and banning the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
According to the website asianetnews, a video surfaced on the social media platform, in which NCCM CEO Stephen Brown raised questions on Indian democracy. Stephen Brown claimed that the Indian government is not a liberal democracy. It is a government whose officials have been oppressing minorities for a very long time.
According to the report- NCMM and WSO have demanded the Trudeau government to ban RSS in Canada.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the viral video is not of any government representative, but of Stephen Brown, CEO of NCCM. The decision to ban RSS has not been taken by the Government of Canada. Moreover, This demand has been made by the National Council of Canadian Muslims and the World Sikh Organization of Canada. Therefore the claims of social media users are misleading.
