Fact Check
Upon careful investigation, the DFRAC team observed that the gutter water was being discharged onto the road through the use of a motor pump. Additionally, our team noticed that phone numbers were inscribed on the posters of the Biryani shop.
Subsequently, we contacted the aforementioned phone number to inquire about the incident. The individual who answered identified himself as Subhan Ali. He informed us that his Biryani shop is situated in Pinjore, within the Panchkula district of Haryana. Subhan explained that due to the absence of a drainage system and the delayed arrival of tankers, his employee resorted to draining the gutter water onto the road using a motor pump. This action sparked controversy.
Subhan further disclosed that a group of young individuals entered his establishment and subjected him to verbal abuse and misconduct. He clarified that he utilizes filtered water for cooking purposes and submersible water for dishwashing. When our team asked about filing a complaint with the police, he told that no complaint has been lodged with the police.
Conclusion
According to the fact check conducted by DFRAC, it is evident that the claim circulating on social media is misleading. The controversy arose due to the issue of water being shed on the road, which is being falsely propagated as the use of gutter water for cooking biryani.
