A claim is getting viral on social media. According to this claim, famous Indian wrestler, Sangeeta Phogat lost to America’s Jennifer Page Rogers with a score of 0-10 in a competition of Budapest ranking series. Users on social media are fiercely sharing this claim on the Internet.
Sangeeta Phogat is the youngest one among all the Phogat sisters. In addition to that, she played a significant role throughout the wrestlers’ protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The protest was started by Top Indian wrestlers against WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for allegedly assaulting the female wrestlers.
Vivek Pandey, General Secretary of BJP Mahanagar Kishan Morcha and chief of Rashtravadi Hindu Mahasabha posted a picture from his official account on Twitter and wrote: “Andolan Jivi lost 10-0 in the competition held in Budapest because there is no familyism there…. ….”
This posted picture has received around 44.2k views on Twitter till now.
Not only this, but a user by the name of Anuj Kumar Bajpai also posted this picture on Twitter and wrote: “Country’s pride striker Sangeeta Phogat lost to America’s Jennifer Page Rogers by fall with a score of 0-10, many congratulations to you for this tremendous defeat… Zero-10 is really a great achievement… …”.

To verify the authenticity of this viral claim, the Dfrac reverse-searched it on Google. Meanwhile, we found an emotive post shared by Sangeeta Phogat from her official Twitter account. In a shared post, she wrote: “Messages of congratulations from all of you are reaching me, I am very emotional at this moment. Many thanks to all of you. This medal is not mine only. All are medals for all of you. I dedicate this medal to all the fighting women of the world who are fighting against crimes against women. Jai Hind”.
Moreover, the news website BBC Hindi published news with the headline: “Wrestler Sangeeta Phogat, who performed at Jantar Mantar, won a medal”. In this news, BBC Hindi revealed: “Indian wrestler Sangeeta Phogat has won the bronze medal in the Polic Imre and Varga Janos Memorial Ranking Series Wrestling Championship held in Budapest, Hungary. In 59 kg, Sangeeta defeated Viktoria Borsos of Hungary 6-2”.
