Cyclone Biparjoy made a landfall on the Gujarat coast on the evening of June 15. Even in preparations, the Gujarat government has evacuated around 75,000 people from coastal and low-lying areas to safety still till now 22 people were injured, while electric poles and trees were uprooted.
Several videos and photos purportedly showing the cyclone in action have already gone viral on social media. Meanwhile a video showing drastic storm is going viral on social media media and users are claiming it to be of kutch, Gujrat.
A user named BN Adhikarai IIS (rtd) shared the video and writes, “ as very severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy made landfall in Gujarat’s coastal areas on Thursday (June 15) evening.#Gujaratcyclone #BiparjoyUpdate #BiparjoyNews”
Many other users from India as well as Pakistan posted this video with the same claim.
Fact Check:
To verify the authenticity of this video DFRAC team converted the video into different frames and reverse searched it and found that, this video was uploaded 3 years earlier on a you tube channel with the caption, “Wow! Incredible storm produces powerful straight line winds in Monte Alto, Texas”
Conclusion:
Hence, it is clear from the investigation that the video is neither of cyclone biparjoy landing in Kutch,Gujrat but from Texas, America, also the video is not of recent times , but three years old. Hence the claim of social media users is Misleading.
