A video of a person dancing on the shores of the ocean is going viral on social media. Users are claiming that the person dancing is Saurabh Kirpal, a LGBTQ rights activist, author, and senior lawyer at the Delhi High Court. Saurabh Kirpal is the son of 31st Chief Justice of India Bhupinder Nath Kirpal and was appointed as a High Court judge in 2023 by Collegium, which was opposed by the government. Kirpal is open about being homosexual, raises gender rights issues, and has written on the subject.
User ‘Hasna Zaroori Hai’ shared the video on Twitter, writing, “This is a new Dhamaka video. This is the son of Supreme Court judge Saurabh Singh Kirpal, whom Chandar Churna fooled into accepting the homosexual law to make him a Supreme Court judge.” This tweet has been seen by nearly two lakh people.

Fact-check:
To know the truth about the viral video, the DFRAC team first converted the video into a few frames and reverse-searched them using Google. During this process, we found the Instagram page of Damandeep Singh Chaudhary, also known as Damandiaries. It can be seen that Damandeep Singh Chaudhary has uploaded many dance videos on Instagram Reels.
Damandeep Singh Chaudhary is a digital creator and co-founder of the fashion and lifestyle company Runway Lifestyle. We also found Mandeep Singh Chaudhary’s YouTube channel, where he has uploaded some short videos.
In further investigation, the DFRAC team found a tweet by senior lawyer Saurabh Kirpal, in which he denied this claim. In this tweet, he denied the claim that the viral video is his. Therefore, the claim of social media users is incorrect.
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact-check makes it clear that the person dancing in the viral video is not senior advocate Saurabh Kirpal, but a digital creator, fashion and lifestyle company Runway Lifestyle co-founder Damandeep Singh Chaudhary. Kirpal has made it clear on Twitter that he has no connection to the viral video, so social media users’ claim is false.
