Did Rajasthan Welcomes PM Modi with Anti-Modi hoardings and graffiti? – Read Fact Check

A hoarding of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going viral on the internet with a claim that it was recently put up in Rajasthan ahead PM Modi’s public meeting.

In the hoarding it was written, “Modi No Entry”

A user named Siya Choudhary shared this hoarding and writes, “This is Rajasthan, did you think it was Gujarat.” The user also used hashtags such as #Modi_Go_Back.(English Translation)

Another user Himmat Singh Jurgar shared two pictures which states, “Modi No Entry” and “Modi Go Back” and writes, “ This is Rajasthan, did you understand Gujarat?

The hashtag #modi_Go_back kept trending on Twitter throughout the day with PM’s Ajmer rally.

BJP should think that when they did not have access to the villages and countryside, they kept getting 2-4 seats in the Lok Sabha.

Due to incidents like farmer’s movement and wrestler episode, as soon as North India slips away, the central power will not be available even in the state.!”

Fact Check:

To check the authenticity of the viral claim we reverse searched the picture of the hording and found a report from The News Minute dated 09 Feb , 2019. According to the report huge billboards have been erected in places around Guntur and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, signaling the PM’s visit at that time.

We then reverse searched for the second image getting viral and found the same image and it dates back in 2020 during the then going protest of Anti-CAA.

A Times of India report from the same time featured a different photo of what appeared to be the same “Go Back Modi” graffiti in Kolkata. Per the report, in January 2020, anti-CAA protesters expressed opposition to PM Modi’s visit to the city through graffiti.

Conclusion:

Hence the two picture going viral are neither from Rajasthan nor from the recent times but from the year 2019, 2020 respectively.
