Recently, a video went viral on social media. Which is a high-profile meeting. In the video, a cake placed on a plate on the table during the meeting can be seen being eaten by a rat.

The viral video is said to be from a meeting of Chief Secretary Balochistan. But a Pakistani news website propakistani in its fact check described the viral video as a meeting of a university in Jammu and Kashmir, India.

On December 5, citing a report by the Indian news channel NDTV, said that the video is from a university in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He also said that it is being described as Balochistan to hurt the reputation of Pakistan.

Fact Check:

To analyze the reality of the propakistani’s claim, the DFRAC first searched for that NDTV report. There is no mention of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir anywhere in the report. The report can be read here.

Then we converted the viral video into a keyframe with the help of inVID tool. On reverse searching the keyframe, we found this video on Twitter.

The video was posted on Twitter by a Pakistani journalist and member of various international media organizations Saqib Islam. “Chief Secretary Balochistan meeting and a rat. Who records such videos and then gets uploaded?

To confirm this claim, we did some keyword searches in Urdu on Google. As a result, we got reports from many national news channels in Pakistan. It was clearly told that the viral video is from the meeting of The Chief Secretary Balochistan. These news channels include reports from PNN News, Jahan Pakistan, etc.

Conclusion:

Therefore, it is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the viral video is from the meeting of Chief Secretary Balochistan. To save Pakistan from being defamed, an attempt has been made to portray the video as that of a university in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In such a situation, propakistani’s fact check is fake.
