A collage of two pictures of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav is being shared fiercely on social media. Users sharing this collage are claiming that Lalu Prasad Yadav walks in a wheelchair in Bihar and when he reached Singapore, he went for a walk on the beach.
Sharing this collage, a user named Ajay Sehrawat wrote – “Golmaal hai sab golmaal hai.” According to Ajay Sehrawat’s bio, he is the spokesperson of BJP’s Delhi state unit and is the national media in-charge of BJP’s OBC Morcha.
Fact Check
To fact-check the viral collage, the DFRAC team first reverse-searched both the pictures separately. Our investigation revealed that the picture of Lalu Prasad Yadav in a wheelchair is from 2018. This image has been published on Times Of India website on 10th May 2018.
On the other hand, we found another picture of Lalu Prasad Yadav on ABP News. According to the report of ABP News, Lalu Prasad Yadav has gone to Singapore for treatment. He has kidney problems. His daughter Rohini Acharya had reached Lalu Prasad Yadav to receive him at the Singapore airport. Along with Lalu, his elder daughter Misa Bharti is also in Singapore. During this he went to the beach with the family.
At the same time, according to the report of “Aaj Tak“, Lalu Prasad Yadav is undergoing treatment. In this report, photographs of Lalu’s hospital during the check-up and investigation have been published.
Conclusion
It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the picture of Lalu Prasad Yadav sitting on a wheel chair is 4 years old i.e. 2018. At the same time, the second picture is of Singapore, where he has gone for treatment. Hence the claim being made by social media users is misleading.
