The situation in Ukraine is getting tougher. Meanwhile, some photos are getting viral on the internet with the claim that The Russian invaders are raising flags of the Soviet Union in Mariupol. Along with the images, @RevStatus wrote the caption that Red banner on the chimney of the Illich plant in Mariupol.

Similarly, many users have shared this picture with the same claim that Russian users raising Soviet Union in Mariupol. Moreover, user are also claiming that the main goal of is the restoration of the Soviet Union,

Fact Check

Om google reverse image search, we found a 1 minute and 33 minutes video on Youtube channel of VOXKOMM International. At 52 seconds we can see a man climbing on a Chimney and uprooting the Ukrainina flag. Then, he hoisted the  Soviet Union Flag. But, the point worthy to note here is that this video with the caption, “Raising the Soviet flag on Donbass” was uploaded on March 4, 2015.

 

Conclusion

Hence, the viral video is not of Mariupol. Users are sharing a old video with the false claim.
