The Hindi text describes a viral social media post regarding an incident in a village in Rajasthan. According to the post, four individuals visiting a village to collect donations for a madrasa were questioned about their views on Hindus. It claims that after they gave a response that was interpreted as a religious slur, they were physically assaulted.
While sharing this video, a user named Ms.Bhumi wrote, “There is information that the video is from Rajasthan. Four Ola guys went to a village to ask for donations for Mud (likely a typo for ‘Mad’ or ‘Madrasa’), where a Hindu youth asked them what Hindus meant in their view. The reply came – Kafir (infidel). Then what, the Kafir literally acted like a true Kafir and gave them a thorough beating. I wish all Kafirs would start acting like Kafirs in this way, so that these Jihadis would learn some sense.“

A user The Jaipur Dialogues shared the viral video with a caption: Belt treatment. In a village in Rajasthan, four people came to seek donations in the name of a madrasa. Chhotu Singh and his brother asked the fundraisers, ‘What is a Hindu in your eyes?’ The madrasa representatives replied, Kafir.

Fact Check:
Our investigation revealed that the viral video is not from Rajasthan, but from an incident that occurred in February in the Budaun district of UP. According to media reports, Muslims were beaten up for not giving way to a scooty. The police took action at that time and sent the accused to jail. First, we conducted a reverse image search of the video’s keyframes for our investigation. We found a report contextually related to the viral video uploaded on Live Hindustan YouTube channel on February 21, titled ‘Budaun viral video: Akshay chased and thrashed three Muslims for not giving way to a scooty in Budaun | UP‘.
The description of this video states, “A horrific video of open hooliganism from the Budaun district of Uttar Pradesh is going viral on social media. In the Rudayan town of the Islamnagar police station area, a youth chased and beat up three Muslim passersby over a minor dispute regarding not giving way. It is alleged that Bajrang Dal’s block coordinator, Akshay Kumar, first demanded the Aadhaar cards of Abdul Salam and his companions, and then started assaulting them while hurling filthy abuses. The elderly victims kept begging for mercy, and when they ran to save their lives, the accused chased them for about 200 metres. ( English Translation)
Meanwhile, we found a BBC report about this incident, which states, “It is written in the FIR that Abdul Salam and his three companions were walking on the main road of Rudayan. A man coming from behind blew the horn, but they could not hear it, angered by which they were assaulted.
Upon further investigation, we found that the viral video was posted in February by several other users and media outlets, replying to which the Budaun Police had informed that a case was registered against the accused and they were sent to jail. In all the replies, the police had written, ‘In connection with the said matter, a case has been registered by Thana Islamnagar Police, and the accused has been arrested and sent to jail.’( English Translation)
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact check makes it clear that the viral video on social media is not from the incident in Rajasthan. This video is from an incident that occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district in February. Therefore, the claim made by users is misleading.
