Fact Check: Viral claim of Pakistan firing 10,000 shells on India is fake

Fact Check en

Viral posts on social media, shared with captions like “PAKISTAN ARMY UNLEASHES FIREPOWER! Over 10,000 Artillery Shells rain down on India, leaving 60% border posts damaged and 40% completely destroyed!”, allege a massive Pakistani military strike along the India–Pakistan border.

Fact Check

As of November 2025, there are no verified reports from the Indian Ministry of Defence, Pakistan’s ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations), or international outlets confirming that over 10,000 artillery shells were fired toward India. In October 2025, Pakistani forces were involved in heavy cross-border clashes with Afghanistan’s Taliban forces, not India.

Additionally, the video circulating with this claim, showing alleged “recent” shelling, is actually from May 2025, during earlier India–Pakistan tensions, and was reshared widely by Pakistani accounts to falsely suggest a new escalation.

Conclusion

The claim that the Pakistan Army fired 10,000 artillery shells on India, damaging 60% of border posts and destroying 40%, is fake.
