Pakistan-based accounts have claimed that President Donald Trump said in a press conference that Pakistan shot down 7 Indian jets.
An account named Daily CPEC has shared the claim.

Multiple other users were also found who shared the claim, which can be viewed here and here.
Fact Check
Upon investigation, we found the claim to be misleading. In the original press briefing on Monday, August 25, President Trump said, “I have stopped all of these wars. A big one would have been India and Pakistan. The war with India and Pakistan was the next level that was going to be a nuclear war… They already shot down seven jets; that was raging.” Several media outlets, including The Economic Times and The Times of India, also reported this statement. However, at no point did Trump specify that Pakistan shot down 7 Indian jets.
Earlier, Pakistan-based accounts shared that Trump confirmed Pakistan shot down 5–6 Indian jets. Our fact-check showed he mentioned jets being downed, but never said they were Indian or of Pakistan.
Conclusion
Hence, the viral claim is false. Trump’s recent remarks referred to jets being downed, but he did not state that Pakistan shot down Indian jets.
