Our investigation reveals that the claim is misleading. We discovered a report by Prothom Alo dated August 9, 2025, which confirms that a husband attempted to bury his paralyzed, bedridden wife alive in Sribardi Upazila, Sherpur. The incident’s video subsequently went viral on social media platforms. The event took place on Friday afternoon near Khoshalpur Kanipara market in Kakilakura Union within the upazila. The victim has been identified as Khosheda Begum (70), while the accused husband is Md. Khalilur Rahman (80), son of the late Zahur Ali from Khoshalpur Madhyapara.
Additionally, another media outlet, Dainik Bangla, published a similar report confirming the incident originated from Bangladesh. Furthermore, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sribardi Police Station, Md. Anwar Zahid said, “We immediately sent a team after receiving the information. The locals said that they have resolved the matter socially.
