A viral video is shared where a huge crowd can be seen on the ground around a plane flying in an open field. While sharing the video, users have claimed that it claims that a teenager named Avnish Kumar from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, built a working plane in just one week using scrap materials, spending only ₹7,000.
Multiple users have shared the claim, which can be viewed here and here.
Fact Check
Upon investigation, we found the claim to be misleading. The video was originally posted on a Facebook page called Aviation Video, which stated that it featured a 28-year-old innovator from Manikganj, Bangladesh, who had successfully built and flown his ultralight aircraft.
Using relevant keywords, we traced the story to media reports from Prothom Alo and Bangla Tribune, March 2025. They identified the man as Julhas Molla of Shaitghar Teota, Shibaloy upazila, Manikganj, Bangladesh. After four years of effort, he completed and flew his RC plane at around 11 a.m. on a Tuesday, as hundreds of onlookers gathered along the banks of the Jamuna River. The successful flight took place in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manowar Hossain Molla.
Conclusion
The viral claim is false. The aircraft shown in the video was not created by an Indian teenager. It is from Bangladeshi innovator Julhas Molla from Manikganj, Bangladesh, in March 2025.
