Recently, an ITBP bus fell into the Sindh River at Kullan in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on 30 July 2025. Following the incident, a claim is circulating on the internet regarding it. A Pakistan-based account ‘TacticalTribun’ on X posted the claim. The user claimed “Multiple Indian soldiers killed and injured after a bus carrying Indian Paramilitary Forces fell into the Sindh River at Ganderbal.”
Fact Check
When we at DFRAC conducted an in-depth analysis of the viral claim, it was found to be misleading. After searching the viral claim on the internet, we found an article in the Kashmir Vision written on 30 July 2025. The title of the article is “Bus carrying ITBP personnel falls into Sindh river in Ganderbal district”. The article also reports that “the bus which was carrying ITBP personnel went into the Sindh river at Kullan in the Ganderbal district amid heavy rain, where all passengers on the bus were rescued according to the officials. Nonetheless, the number of personnel on the bus was not immediately identified. An official said, “The driver is injured and has been taken to a hospital.”
A similar statement was also posted on X by ‘News18’ on 30 July 2025. It also includes video of the incident. They shared “Bus Carrying ITBP Jawans Falls Into River Sindh in J&K Search and Rescue Operation Underway”.
Conclusion
Therefore, considering all the information obtained through all the sources, we can conclude that the viral claim is misleading. The mentioned incident did occur, but there have been no deaths reported yet. The rescue operation is also in action.
